The short answer

For an owner-led agency selling lead capture, follow-up, appointment setting, and reputation management to contractors, start the shortlist with HighLevel. Add Vendasta if marketplace products matter, and keep the contractor's field-service platform in the architecture rather than promising to replace it.

Good fit
  • Agencies packaging lead operations as a monthly service
  • Niche teams that can standardize 80% of each account
  • Operators planning to provide first-line client support
Look elsewhere
  • Agencies seeking a passive software revenue stream
  • Teams without a clear onboarding and support owner
  • Anyone promising field-service features the CRM does not provide

01

White label is an operating model, not a color setting

Changing a logo is the easy part. The agency becomes responsible for explaining the product, setting it up, handling client confusion, monitoring automations, and deciding what happens when a client leaves. Your margin must pay for that work.

Write the support boundary before choosing the software. Decide what your monthly fee includes, response times, number of workflows, change requests, messaging usage, and whether the client owns the data and phone numbers.

02

Use a contractor-specific acceptance test

A useful pilot begins with a real lead from a real service page. Confirm the system records attribution, responds on the correct channel, assigns the right pipeline stage, offers a valid booking path, stops when the person opts out, and produces a report the contractor understands.

Then test the uncomfortable cases: duplicate leads, shared household phone numbers, after-hours emergencies, reassignment, failed messages, cancellation, and data export.

03

Choose the tier from the offer you sell

HighLevel's $297 plan currently includes unlimited subaccounts and white-label desktop. The $497 plan adds SaaS Mode, markup on supported rebilled usage, advanced API access, and other controls. The upgrade makes sense when those capabilities produce revenue or remove measurable labor—not because the word Pro feels safer.

Run the numbers per active client and include usage. A five-client agency and a fifty-client agency should not use the same mental model.

Toolbox verdict

Start with HighLevel, but buy it as an operating system you will actively run—not a passive white-label product that sells and supports itself.
