What payment cannot buy

Vendors cannot purchase a ranking, approve an article, suppress a criticism, or require us to recommend a product. When a product is not a good fit, we say so—even when a paid link is available.

Where disclosures appear

A general disclosure appears before every article. Paid calls to action also carry a disclosure close to the link. The Toolbox Advisor repeats the disclosure when it first presents a paid recommendation.
